PILATES & MOVEMENTCONTACT

Welcome to Abel Wellness

Here, movement isn’t a means to change who you are — it’s a way to come home to yourself.

We believe that your body holds wisdom, your story holds power, and your presence is enough.

“We don’t move to fix ourselves — we move to remember how whole we already are.”

We're so glad you're here.

Testimonials

" I have been a client of Abel Wellness for thirteen years, attending classes two or three times per week. Thanks to Patti and Donnie, I am the exact same weight and height that I was when I started. I am 80 years old and am in excellent health. I take no medications and have all my original parts. My strength and flexibility allows me to maintain my house and 2 and ½ acres of land with no outside assistance. I credit Patti and Donnie with all of the above. Not only are they wonderful teachers, they are wonderful people. I consider them to be my friends. When my husband became ill and subsequently passed away, I came to depend on them for support. They were always encouraging and my Pilate classes became my haven for physical and mental health. This is not a place where you go for a few classes and then quit, the encouragement they give you and skills that they teach, keep you coming back. If you are looking to increase flexibility and strength and have your whole wellbeing cared for, you could not do better than Patti and Donnie at Abel Wellness."

"I can’t say enough good things about this Abel Wellness. The instructors - Patti and Donnie, truly take the time to provide individual attention and tailor sessions to your personal goals. They are incredibly patient, kind, and supportive. You can feel how thoughtful they are about each class — every movement is built with clear intent and purpose. They are genuinely invested in helping you improve — not just physically, but in how you feel about yourself overall. You can tell they are deeply committed to improving lives, and that kind of care makes all the difference. I’ve felt stronger, more confident, and more connected to my body since starting here. Highly recommend."

-Ritwika D

"Last month I tried Pilates for the first time, doing one mat and one reformer class each week. I really was not sure I would be able to do the movements due to my lack of flexibility and coordination. Due to Patti’s vast wealth of knowledge and kind approach to teaching, I am gaining confidence and learning so many ways I can make minor changes in my body position to be able to do moves I never would have thought I could do. Patti tailors each class to our needs that day such as balance or tummy issues. It has changed how I do the weights at the gym and helped with my various aches and pains. My fellow students are welcoming and friendly, making it a pleasure to attend classes. I encourage others who think it might be too hard, to try out classes or private sessions at Abel Wellness to see how Patti and Donnie can help you improve your health, fitness, and confidence. "

Feel Strong, Live Fiercely Independent

One of our greatest honors is partnering with individuals who are ready to move, feel, and live better.

Whether you are recovering from an injury, navigating chronic pain, seeking greater strength and mobility, or simply wanting to age with vitality, we meet you where you are and help guide you forward.

Together, we work to:

• Build strength, mobility, and confidence for everyday life

• Improve balance, stability, and resilience for long-term independence

• Reduce pain, tension, and fatigue while restoring ease of movement

• Recover and rebuild after injury, surgery, or physical setbacks

• Address movement compensations and imbalances before they become larger problems

• Develop greater body awareness and understanding of how your body moves and responds

• Explore the connection between movement, stress, emotions, and overall well-being

• Create healthier patterns that support both physical and mental resilience

• Enhance performance for work, recreation, sports, and the activities you love

• Age with strength, confidence, grace, and vitality

Our approach combines intentional movement, education, breath, nervous system awareness, and individualized guidance to help you build a stronger foundation for life.

If you're ready to take ownership of your health, movement, and well-being, we would be honored to partner with you on your journey.

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely not. In fact, many of our clients—including men and active adults who never imagined themselves trying Pilates—discover that what we do is much more than they expected.

While Pilates provides the foundation, our sessions also incorporate functional movement, strength, balance, mobility, and nervous system-informed movement. Everything is adapted to meet you where you are, whether you're recovering from an injury, improving athletic performance, reducing pain, or simply wanting to continue doing the activities you love.

No experience or special level of fitness is required. We'll help you build confidence, one movement at a time.

We believe movement should support your life—not become another task on your to-do list.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all workout, we combine the principles of Pilates with functional movement, strength, mobility, balance, breath, and individualized coaching to meet you where you are today.

Every class is intentionally small, allowing us to adapt movements to your body, your goals, and your movement history. Whether you're managing pain, recovering from an injury, improving performance, or simply wanting to continue doing the things you love, you'll learn how to move more efficiently, confidently, and with greater ease.

Our focus isn't on chasing perfect form or burning calories. It's on helping you build a body that supports the life you want to live.

We work with people of all ages and movement abilities—from those simply wanting to move and feel better to individuals recovering from injury or managing more complex conditions.

Some of the reasons people seek us out include:

  • Back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee pain

  • Recovery from orthopedic injuries and surgery

  • Transitioning from physical therapy to independent movement

  • Osteoporosis and bone health

  • Scoliosis and postural concerns

  • Balance and fall prevention

  • Arthritis and joint stiffness

  • Hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

  • Neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson's disease

  • Pregnancy and postpartum recovery

  • Athletic performance and injury prevention

  • Healthy aging and maintaining an active lifestyle

We don't treat diagnoses—we help people move more confidently within the body they have today. That's why we take the time to understand your movement history, goals, and current abilities before creating a plan that's right for you. If you're unsure whether your condition is appropriate for our programs, we'd be happy to discuss your specific needs and help determine the best place to begin.

That depends on your goals, experience, and movement history. Some people are ready to begin in a small group class, while others benefit from starting with a private session or introductory series. If you're not sure where to begin, schedule a complimentary Explore & Tour consultation. We'll learn about your goals, answer your questions, give you a tour of the studio, and help you choose the best path forward.
